Mike and I just got back from our trip to Hawaii! We’ve been on a few trips but this was our first big vacation together. We stayed in Kauai the first half of the week and then hopped over to Oahu to meet up with some friends over there. We had a lot of fun on both Islands but I figured I’d split it up into two posts and focus on what we did at each place! Keep reading to see what we did, and what I wore during our time in Kauai!
We stayed somewhat in the middle of the island in Kapa’a. We knew we wanted to do things on both the north and south ends so staying central was the best choice. We were able to go south and visit Poipu Beach and the famous Spouting Horn. This area was really nice as it is the sunniest area in Kauai
One of my favorite views we had on Kauai was going to Wailua Falls near sunset. The falls were so incredible and the light seriously had me in awe. I made mike pull over in a few different spots to get pictures (I’m sure you can guess that he loved that)
Online I had seen this “secret beach” and was determined to find it. We drove around cause the maps on our phones were trying to take us to the beach but couldn’t find the road access to it. We ended up stumbling on these GIANT homes that were all gated and looked incredible! (Pretty sure we saw Sean Penn out for a jog!)
We were able to just google this secret beach and found directions to it online. We had to park by a house and hike through the trees on a small path. It was super steep and slippery but so worth the gorgeous view at the end! the beach was so huge and open yet secluded. For a while we were the only ones there!
wearing: Zara swimsuit
After the beach we went over to Hanalei and found some yummy food and the best shave ice I’ve EVER had at Wishing Well! (and I’m a hardcore Bahama Bucks fan so thats saying something!)
One of the rainier days we headed up to the north shore and hiked the Kalalau Trail along the NaPali Coast which was GORGEOUS! The coast goes for 11 miles and you can literally hike the entire way across, which we did. HA! No we went 1 mile. Which was a good choice because it started POURING halfway back down.
